9/11/15 Never Forget?

Another anniversary to the tragedy, now fourteen years ago.  I asked Chubs yesterday to tell me about 9/11.  He had a concept of it.  He said some bad guys stole some planes and they were trying to do bad things, Wife mentioned crashing into buildings and he said oh yeah, but he was having a hard time finding how the good guys stopped them.  I reminded him there were four planes and the good guys did manage to stop one of the jets from being used as a weapon, but they still crashed into an open field and sadly, everyone on all four planes died as well as many people in those two towers and the pentagon.
Now that the smoke has cleared, we have been in Iraq and Afghanistan over ten years.  We earn the reputation of bully because we go into a country and never leave.  I don't know people from the middle east, I am neither pro nor against, maybe Saddam had to go, but he kept His people in check.  Not much was made of the 19 attackers on our jets being from Saudi Arabia, but I guess they are our friends.
Well, we toppled Saddam Hussein, and his many statues, and we even finally got Osama Bin Laden who started this whole thing because we are a corrupt nation, and funny enough, they find pornos in the house where he was killed.  That is an awesome factoid, I'm sure he never looked at the naked pics, just used the magazines as toilet paper, what do we know.
Did we change anything?  The people over there still hate America, except for those that come over here, they suddenly love the USA.  Maybe it has been a good training ground.  We've improved from the Jeep to the Humvee to an even newer MRAP (mine resistant ambush protected).  Of course they look as badass as they sound.  There is now a whole new generation of soldier trained in fighting within a city, for when that skill set is required.
I guess in the end, Osama taught us a lesson, which escapes me, then we taught him a lesson, which also escapes me.  A whole bunch of innocent people died for these lessons, but I guess that's war.
