5/21/21 Decent Service Visit?

Yesterday was about that time for Wife's Telluride, it needed an oil change and the way Wife gets in a panic, it must be done that day, when she starts getting fidgety.  I guess that is part of the price of losing the Kia Soul to an oil problem, now she makes that something she obsesses over.  Don't think we are going to go over on the mileage between oil changes, she is on top of it.  That of course means "Babe, can you take my car in for an oil change?"  I usually wait for the weekend, but I felt adventurous and decided to go take care of it on Thursday Morning.

I don't want a bunch of piled on work, I want to take it easy on Saturday, if at all possible.  Because of this, I went and scheduled the appointment for Thursday around 10:00am.  Last time we went to Kia South Austin we weren't expecting to have to do anything other than show up and wait.  This time, they told Wife that she was supposed to schedule everything online now.  We got around the oil change problem by just going to Maxwell Ford since we were going to change the oil on the Ford Escape.  Now that I know how things work, I scheduled the oil change as soon as I came back home from dropping off Baby A at football training.  The procedure was very easy and there were many slot choices with the ad saying the oil and filter cost was going to be $39.95, which I thought was fair.

When I got to the dealership, our service guy waved me in and told me to just wait a moment.  I felt a little weird because there was a lady in front of me, and she was totally ignored as I was told to step forward so we could talk.  I asked how long, hoping he would say less than an hour, but he said they are very busy, and perhaps as long as two hours.  I do like this time to look at the new cars, and maybe even sit in them to see if I can be comfortable.  Time passed by pretty quickly as I found me a quiet place outside and just watched TikTok videos.

I was expecting to pay $39.95 plus taxes for the oil change, but our tech guy found me a coupon for the oil change and it only cost $23.88.  That price seems really cheap in today's world of overinflated everything, but I was not going to complain.  I left before they realized they could have charged me double that and got home just in time to start lunch.
