4/10/20 Wow, Religious People Are As Dense As Spring Breakers?

A couple days ago I wrote about spring breakers and understanding where they come from because they are still young enough that their brains are not yet fully developed, so we are dealing with people thinking with partial brains, but really, the religious right is lead by supposedly fully functioning adults.  I just read a story that in Kansas after the governor put into law that church services and funerals could not be attended by groups larger than ten people, the Kansas congress overturned that order and basically said "no, our people have a constitutional right to gather in groups as big as we want."  To even add the attorney general and send out a memo to police personnel to not ticket or fine groups in religious harmony is just putting a nail on that coffin.
How many states have to have this very thing repeat over and over, whatever gains on "flattening the curve we have been able to gain will sadly be undone this weekend, "in the name of the Lord," sorry to prognosticate.  Goddammit it, I thought Texas was a little more advanced, apparently I just heard on TV that if you have a need, you can still gather for church services, so how are we better than freaking Kansas?  We are not.  People, a gathering is a gathering, whether it is to expose your titties on the streets of New Orleans or to pay homage to the great boogieman in the sky, the closer we get to our neighbors, the greater the incidence of spread.  Believe me, God is not protecting you, like I said, if there is a higher deity, he set this cleanser upon us.  Think about it, it is perfect, it spreads most easily amongst people that love and care for each other, it makes us isolate from one another.  It targets a part of the population that isn't out there harming anyone.  The poor elderly are just trying to live for the love of their families, and this disease prefers them instead of these assholes that still today have the energy to be out there kidnapping kids and shooting up gatherings?  It just makes it hard to read the news when so much bad stuff keeps happening all around.
I am sure next week we will have brand new "old" stories of new break outs of corona due to gatherings over the weekend, and this republican morons in the Kansas congress will just shrug and deny any responsibility.  Just once, I would like for people in power to say "wow, I guess that was my bad, I made that call."  Nah, they'll just hide until another story takes center stage.
I hate writing about "downer" stories like this, I'd rather write about mijo getting stronger or the benefits of my newest toy (backpack), but man!, does it bother me that us humans still make decisions that affect our livelihood by looking at the sky and thinking someone is up there looking out for us.  Right now, in the middle of the biggest threat to us as humans, we really need to listen to the smart people around us.  Yes, the knowledge may be changing, even daily, as they learn more and more, but we move forward on their advances, not on the actions of some all knowing thing that can't be proven even exists.
