6/21/19 Black Mirror? (Netflix series)

I just saw the pilot for this Black Mirror and it left me a bit confused.  The story is simple enough, but a little gross.  A family member of the royal house has been taken and the only request by the kidnapper is that he wants the prime minister to have intercourse with a pig, on national television.  Does he do it or not?  There is no guarantee doing the act will bring back the girl, but not doing it will more than likely get her killed.  The PM is having a hard time with this idea and I think the wife is having a harder time.
I know that it is somewhat humiliating, but it isn't the worst thing one can do.  I am not saying I would jump at the chance to do this, but for the sake of saving a high profile person, it could somehow be seen as heroic.  Videos of things like this exist, if you look hard enough, not that hard even, and I am sure those people are a little nutty, but it's not like doing it makes you an automatic deviant, specially on the conditions as prescribed by the kidnapper.
So the PM is going back and forth in his head and discussing it with his wife.  In the end he does it and all the hooting and hollering in the streets and bars, people just made it an emergency and nobody was at work, they were all glued to the TV trying to see if he would do it.  When the masses of people see him doing it, there seems to be embarrassment on the peoples faces and suddenly they find themselves not really wanting to watch as the PM goes on for over an hour behind the big pig.  Ultimately, it becomes about giving the man who saved the princess his dignity back.
She is freed, the kidnapper kills himself and leaves a note explaining that this was all an experiment and sure enough, the whole of England showed up to watch which shows what depraved ego maniacs we have become.  After a year, everything seems to be running smoothly, the PM is more popular than ever in the polls and he seems to be going on normally, but they show him at home with a wife who won't have anything to do with him.  I just thought "bitch, this wasn't about you or your husband's penis.  The kidnapper put him in a very tough spot and honestly, the PM did the best thing he could (he didn't have to go for it for an hour but let's thank the mighty Viagra or whatever he slips in his mouth.)
Let's face it, if we had something like this happen in real life, I doubt it would catch the world's attention as it did on the show.  Half of us would think it was a hoax by the media, the other half a hoax by the PM himself for attention.  Even while seeing it live, people would be screaming fake, and the princess probably wouldn't even be saved.  I still don't know what the show is about.  I watched part of the second episode and it seems to be totally unrelated to the first, but I have to see all of it to comment.
