8/19/19 Spider-Man: Far From Home? (movie)

We went to the movies last night, mostly because I felt it had been a long while since we hadn't gone.  As far as movies to watch, it was either going to be Spider-Man or Hobbs and Shaw, I was feeling like watching something with action and Javalina said he was missing some Spider-Man in his life.  I wasn't sure about it because of the whole Avengers: Endgame thing.  All these Marvel superhero movies are tied together now and whether we want to or not, we spent a lot of time mourning Iron-Man and Stark.  Although I expected it, come on, can't we just enjoy Spider-Man being your friendly neighborhood Spider-Man?  Nope!  As Nick Fury said when Peter Parker says his line innocently, "Bitch, please!  You've been to space."  Peter retorts with a weak "that was by accident..."
In the movie, we are kind of forced to go with the new idea that Spider-Man might be the leader of the next generation  of Avengers, whoever they may be.  Peter does have genius tendencies, so it wouldn't be a stretch for him to work with EDITH and even improve her in the near future.  EDITH is a gift from Tony Stark to Peter Parker in the form of sunglasses that control a couple of satellites and some rather powerful computers to help him along the way.  Happy is also more involved now, as he is kind of hitting on Aunt May, leaving him open and vulnerable enough to play a parent type for Peter, who although is a superhero, is still only 16 years old and still kind of a child.
The story itself was kind of simple, Mysterio as he liked to be called was an ex employee of Stark Industries who got fired when Tony decided he didn't need him anymore.  He was not anybody with super powers, he was a fake.  That being said, he had a cast of about twenty who had been wronged by Stark and wanted some adoration from the nobody fans like us after "saving the day."  Of course, one tiny clue is left and exposes the whole plan, which was to have Parker give Mysterio control of EDITH.
I enjoyed that the movie tried being smaller, it wanted to be more about Parker and his classmates running around Europe.  All Peter wanted was to kiss the girl and I think the actress that played MJ was good as she played it aloof and only barely interested in Peter only to admit in the end that she has been holding back because she doesn't want to get hurt.  Fury, being desperate and short of Avengers just about forces Peter Parker to commit to helping.
All goes well until the last 10 seconds when of course, in Avengers fashion, they have to throw in a curveball and of course even though Spider-Man saves us all from certain death and confusion from Mysterio, Mysterio still releases a message to ruin Spider-Man and his anonymity.
