This is a good Friday for us. I got my folks and my sister and her husband and kids showing up tonight. Christmas vacation starts, we are closing on our refinance today around 1:00pm. It is one of those days where it will be so busy, it'll just fly by.
Wife said she has to work five hours, but has plans of leaving the house at 6:00am to make it to Bastrop by 7:00am. This will allow her to get out at 12:00 to give her enouh time to make it back for our signing at 1:00pm. This will be the first hurdle of the day. Boy has to be involved in the morning to take Chubs to school. He was still up at midnight when I was coming back to work, so I am sure he will be ugly and rude with Chubs. Chubs has a day of school in pajamas, and then his cousins will be here, so for him, it is looking pretty good.
My folks are uncharacteristically going to hang out more than the weekend. I suspect that my sister will need her home and she will run off to go be the good helper mom she is. But it would be nice if they actually hung out and looked relaxed here for a couple of days. They are bringing my brother, and it seems like they are not even going to try and get me to go down there. Good, if Mohammed won't go to the mountain, bring the mountain to Mohammed, or something like that.
My mom also mentioned that in the time between Christmas and New Year's, they will be going on an overnight trip to Louisiana, another one of those gambling trips. Mom says it is for dad, she has zero interest in casinoes, but my dad loves the cling cling cling of those one armed bandits. Oh well, my dad is not a high roller, he gambles their fortunes lose change at a time. The trip should allow them to go somewhere they haven't been, so that sounded interesting.
It was nice coming home, Wife suddenly remembered going to the store. She went and got a bunch of snack foods one would eat for fun, the counters are full. I am worried my big coffee maker broke, the Kierig may not be intended for my family who drink coffee all day long. It might serve me well to go buy them a cheap coffee maker that will make coffee by the gallon. If only we were fixing to have some super cold weather, that would have made this weekend perfect.
