5/7/15 Wet Hot American Summer Was Ehh?

I saw this on Netflix last night.  It was pretty bad, hard to imagine considering the amount of familiar faces.  The stars noted are Jeneane Garofalo as the camp director, David Hyde Pierce as a vacationing Astrophysicist, Molly Shannon, one of the camp counselors, Paul Rudd, assistant/older camper, Amy Poehler another assistant/older camper, Bradley Cooper, yet another assistant/older camper, Elizabeth Banks, Michael Ian Black, Judah Friedlander, H. Jon Benjamin, just names I recognize among many others.
Movie is supposed to be a spoof of 80's summer camp style movies of which I grew up watching plenty.  I don't think they did a great job spoofing, since we have gotten used to movie spoofs and I believe they could have done better.  But the premise to the movie is that the last day of camp is coming up and they should all be trying to get it on so as to have that story of doing it for the people back home.
Paul Rudd gets plenty of face time with the camera and makes out with a couple girls.  He is the cool guy in a stereo type way.  He makes out with Elizabeth Banks who is very cute but looks about 18-20 and not yet filled out.  Jeneane Garofalo was big 10-15 years ago, but I don't believe she has made much in movies lately.  David Hyde Pierce was also much more popular in 2001, when movie was released as he played Niles Crane, brother of Frasier in that long running show.
Bradley Cooper and Michael Ian Black play closet gay and actually have a pretty intense scene where they go in a shed and the underwear falls off and they only show the feet but Bradley takes it like a champ, all the way to the wall and almost up a ladder (not sure what they were spoofing there).  Their buddies find out later and everyone seems OK with it, but that would not have been the consequences of that back in the 80's, when the movie is set.
I did enjoy seeing the actors much younger and raw playing goofy kids, specially Bradley Cooper who has recently been nominated four times for an Oscar, and a young Kevin Sussman, who currently comes out on Big Bang Theory as a comic book store owner.  In the movie he played a very dorky and out of it nerd, surprising how little he has changed, but still cool.
