7/15/18 Wife's Vacation Is Over?

Wife is currently asleep, I forgot to write this earlier today, it is now about midnight and I am one blog behind.  Wife has to go back to reality in the morning, about 4:00am, in fact.  We had a nice "staycation" here in our house.  We were supposed to go to Wisconsin, but then Boy got sick.  He still has high readings of whatever they check in his liver, so I guess he is not out of complete danger yet.  She likes to give me a hard time about being sleepy all the time, but she was staying up until 2:00-3:00am, then sleeping until 1:00or 2:00pm.
We didn't accomplish much, but it was nice living like a normal couple, both of us under the same roof.  We did clean up the front yard, trimmed our hedges, planted a new tree, removed a dead one, and even worked on the pool a bit, but that was all the first week.  This past week, we didn't do much at all.  I worked, and days at that.  I would get home between 6:00 and 7:00pm and man, all I wanted was to eat some dinner and go to sleep.  This is the week I finally committed to Javalina to start working out with free weights.  The workout is fun and I love his enthusiasm, but coming in tired from being on my feet all day, well it was hard getting fired up.  Not only does Big Boy want to lift weights, he wants me to hold the bag so he can practice blocking schemes.  I may still weigh almost twice what he weighs, but he comes at you like a train, and it takes a good amount of focus to stay upright.
As I understand it, the first month of summer was summer school, so she was working her normal hours.  This next few weeks is just them getting to the new school year, so she will be working Monday through Thursday, coming back on Thursday evenings and leaving on Monday Mornings.  The change to leaving Monday mornings made a huge difference.  She used to leave on Sundays and in order to not drive at night, she would leave by 3:00-4:00pm.  That means we were on our own for dinners on Sunday and that used to be BBQ night.  Now she stays, but she has to go to bed by 9:00-10:00pm, as she gets up at 4:15am sharp to get showered and ready to be on the road by 5:00am.  Since it takes about three hours, she manages to get there between 7:30 and 8:00am.
We are still hoping on a couple more things that she might be able to bring her skills back home, but we are also accepting that she likes the people she works with and it may be a full 3rd year without her around during the week.  Our love is strong and we both understand this is a sacrifice we are doing to improve her career opportunities in the future.
