11/22/17 Happy Birthday, Javalina?

In some cultures, Chubs is now a man, so he would prefer to go by Javalina, the Spanish spelling for Javelina, which is our mascot in Crystal City.  His coach gave him the nickname and he kind of likes it.  The coach is from neighboring Carrizo Springs and our boy briefly attended school down there when Wife first got her job down there.  Joking aside, our baby is now 13 years old and officially in the teenage years.
We never treated either kid as a baby, with the goo goos and the talking to them like they are plants.  I think this has helped them both grow up quicker.  They are both mature for their respective ages and in general, much better behaved than some of the other savages we encounter here and there.  For his birthday, we had my family up this weekend.  It is always hectic when they visit, because we try to do too much and we end up running around like it's the end of the world.  This weekend was no different, actually, with my brother only showing up for the afternoon, it was even more hectic Saturday evening, as he demanded to eat somewhere requiring an advance notice to sit us on time, he likes to be fancy.
What Javalina cared about most waited until Sunday and that was seeing what he would get from us for his birthday.  We decided to go to Best Buy and he chose the newest PS4, along with an extra controller, an extra game, and another game for his Nintendo Switch.  He seems pretty happy with what he got, and it lines up with plenty of downtime, so he can just lean back and have a relaxing good time.  He has been pretty much in his room, playing games, not moving or leaving the house.
My in-laws should show up tonight or tomorrow, and then they will celebrate his birthday and hopefully, get him some more nice stuff.  For all my mom always busting on me to get my nephews and niece a gift, it seems my brother and sister both forgot to give my boy a gift.  Hmm.
Boy bought a cake, which surprised all of us, but it was from Sam's and not very good, sorry to say.  I always prefer a little something from Central Market, maybe we can take a run that way today.  Either way, it has been a nice week, with Wife home, we have felt a little normal, at least for this week.  We get her back for two weeks at the end of December, so that'll be cool too.
