After the dual oil changes, we finally went home and got ready to go to the meet. We got there around 1:00pm at which time the boys had started their round robin type competition. We decided to go sit at the top since it looked emptier and our parents weren't with us so we didn't have to sit on the bottom. I absolutely hate all the people with ants in their pants who can't stay seated and constantly walk in front of you. We weren't seated five minutes before a couple of those idiot coaches from Dripping Springs came and sat right next to us and then a family sat within an arm's length on the row below us, I mean the stadium was maybe 40% full, there was no reason for anyone to be seated that close to each other unless you are together. We took about five minutes of "COME ON, SHANE!!!" "COME ON, COLE" before deciding we were going to move. I did have a bit of fun when the coaches were yelling complex instructions from the farthest row in the gym, I started yelling helpful information too, such as "brush your teeth" and "change your oil every 3000 miles." and of course "rotate your tires every 6000 miles." I'm sorry to be a dick, but like my son says, he can't hear us while in the middle of competition, what is the purpose of these has been jocks to yell from the stands?
We moved over to the biggest area where there were no other people sitting. I was thinking the view from that spot wasn't going to be as good, but the stadium is rather small, about the size of a basketball court and the three wrestling rings fit perfectly on the main floor. We got away from all the yelling in our ears and the event was mostly calm and long at that point. It is very hard to stay in the moment when you don't know anybody and the best we could do was cheer for anyone against Dripping Springs, god, even on the floor after a match the coaches got up and threw a tantrum forgetting to shake the opposing kid's hand after a close loss, not the kid acting up but the adults, fucking idiots.
Baby A's schoolmate won both his matches which was the only exciting part of the meet for us, then our son let us know they were done. We went and ate again at Red Robin which again hit the spot after a day of watching too much testosterone on display. Our plan was to go walk around the Domain in the evening, but after getting home around 6:30, Wife just wanted to take a shower and I wanted to take a nap. I took a good 1.5 hour nap and then woke to enjoy the evening. We ended up going to get pizza but it was closed, so Mijo requested Taco Bell but the line was crazy long and he ended up eating Sonic. We sat and watched Revenge of the Nerds after attempting to watch Better Off Dead and being able to find it online. I found it hard to believe that our boy had not seen the nerds before, it is a classic must see movie.
