I know it sucks for our coworker who has been out for a few weeks out now, but I am finally seeing some fruits of her lack of labor, if you will. She went to a dance, for another coworker's kid who got married and somehow or other, she took a spill which broke some bones on her foot. The best course of medicine has been for her to stay off her feet for a while, sounds like the 3rd of July is when she might be released to come back to work.
I don't know if their workload had not picked up significantly or what, but everything was quiet until this week, when I started hearing I might be needed to help soften the load on the one remaining person doing TEM. I checked in with her and she said she had about six jobs and I looked at them tonight and of the 6 jobs or so, one has 8 samples and the other has 9 samples, so that is a bunch of work, when best we can do is pump out two or three of these a night, specially because I am rusty.
When things go bad, they really go bad. Not only is she out, but in our section over in chemistry this week, we had my trainer going off on a week off and my old workout partner taking the last two days of the week off, and our tool is still being worked on. We have two identical tools for analysis in the room, but one is ours and the other belongs to Cypress. Since they don't have a night shift, I have been able to do most of our work on their tool.
Tonight, I got the call from my old supervisor to come in and do some TEM work, but my new supervisor also said we had some HOT work that it would be great if I could take care of if not tonight, then tomorrow night. So it is going to make for a great looking check, for once, I should have a good two extra days on my next check. I am quite excited as this should be enough to pay off Target or the Mattresses we had bought. My goal for the summer was to pay off those two, Lowe's, which I already did. This will leave Best Buy next, and it would look great if not for Boy needing a new laptop, at $1800, Dillard's which I plan to pay with some money Boy is due to give us.
The biggest fear we have right now is IRS sent us a letter that we owe them another $1800. We have an appointment with H&R Block because we have been paying for their annual protection, and now we need for them to stand in front of us and take 1 for the team.
Musings of a 40-something dad, living the dream in Austin, Texas. Trying to leave a trail of knowledge for my boys to nibble on.

6/14/18 YouTube Is Really Amazing?
Normally, we only look at stuff that interests us, but if you take a minute, there is so much going on in YouTube, you could just get lost. I was not even thinking I cared about Thailand and Bangkok and yet, I have spent about three hours following some guy (the Holistic Trainer) going about his vacation days. The scenery everywhere is just beautiful with huge rocks/pieces of mountains jutting out of lakes and bays, making the views kind of surreal. I don't think I have seen that around the US.
He spent one of his videos staying on a floating hotel, and it was kind of like a huge long boat/series of cabins tied together and then boards in the front to allow people to walk back and forth. There is no electricity, I am guessing this is just a romantic place for couples. At night, the lighting is provided by all these candlelights and the place takes on a magical look, with weird monkeys screaming in the jungle surrounding the river. It must be a pain in the ass to get there, but it just seems so worth it, for a few nights.
The resorts all look comparable to what we have here, but he shows the haggling prices, starting at $200, he claims to get some of the rooms for $15-$30 a night.
This is definitely the type of place you need a partner to enjoy. In some videos he is putzing around alone, and it is fine as informative videos, but in a lot of them he has a local girl he has either befriended, he mentioned she was a receptionist in one of the hotels and they became friends and now it appears even more. She is cute and add a lot to his videos, she translates for him, explains what foods they are eating, where to go, and then she looks good in a bathing suit, almost a little young, but I think that is in the people, they are all so slender and small.
It almost seems like these people come with a small fortune and sit around spending their money. None of the vacationers are doing work, they spend their days drinking, traveling, and enjoying life. I wish to someday live to the point in which I can partake of this lifestyle.

6/13/18 Together, Whether Up Or Down?
This is not another woo-hoo story of Wife and I, I'm sure y'all get tired of hearing how awesome I am and how my back can carry the weight of the world. Naw, I was talking to an old friend and she brought up another one of my friend's from back in the day and wow, to hear her life story, fuck someone shoot her and hit replay already. I am not saying we are living a perfect life, we certainly have peaks and valleys we are going through, but some people just appear to have valleys and craters.
I remember everyone who knew her single, we all recommended her best bet was to leave this guy alone, there was not a winning bone in his body and he would surely be the end of her. Nobody listens to me, everybody thinks they know better, so whatever, I can look in your eyes and read your future, it is up to you to listen, and people don't.
Before long, she got knocked up and instead of deciding what to do, her choice was made for her. The guy benefitted keeping her around because he already had another kid from a chick who decided to split and leave the daughter behind, how bottom of the barrel was she? My friend instantly became a pregnant mom with an adopted daughter, aged 2 or 3. I guess nobody was a fan of the guy because everyone in her family was against her staying with him, so he did the next best thing, he stopped her from allowing her to communicate with her family. I guess it works when your young and dopey, but goddam, read the signs around you.
At a certain point you can't help people, you just kind of let them fade away. I heard they were living with his mom and family, so maybe things weren't that bad. Then we heard a couple months after having her own baby, she managed to get pregnant again, poor people are so good at this, like it's a skill they all carry. You are already poor, why not be poor poor? This was not enough of a challenge in life for the dude, he then went and fought with his family, so last I had heard they were staying in a hotel night to night.
The only other person I have ever known living like this was a black guy who worked day to day at the warehouse where I drove a forklift for a year. He would show up with his backpack, I guess with his belongings, work all day and sometimes he would ask me for a ride and offer me $10. I couldn't take his money, he was making like $5 an hour and paying for hotels seemed foolhardy.
Last week, my friend informing me (gossiping?) said they were still living in motels but that management had stepped in and offered her a chance to work there for the room (apparently, barely getting by and then quitting her gas station job, but I can only imagine 2 adults and 3 little girls in a small box of a room. Is there a point where these two lovebirds turn it around and make some positive strides?
I don't gain or lose either way, but damn! I don't like to think people I know suffer like this. I can't offer them our rooms, the guy is a hot head and not in any way a nice guy, so that is out of the question. I guess real life tragedies have to exist, and this is just one of them.

6/12/18 Dog Lover Vs. Dog Lover?
Ha! I fucking hate dogs and the way some of you idiots will actually say more people should die than dogs says a lot about you as a human, Dummies! I was sitting here writing on Saturday morning, it is only 8:20am and this is my third blog, sometimes ideas just come to me. Just as I was done writing the time travel one, a lady was walking through our greenbelt behind our house. If we cared more for walking, we would really be able to go out there and enjoy our neighborhood. This whole community is built on an old farm and I guess the farm was down where the playground is about 7-8 houses away, according to some old views on Googlemaps. Anyways, there was an old asphalt road from 1st Street all the way behind the houses backed up to the greenbelt, which would be shitty to drive on today, but for walking is still pretty good, it even breaks into trails and we have a deep creek that I don't believe goes dry, I have always seen it with water, but we don't go back there often enough to say it is full year round.
Anyways, beautiful scenery, I know why people walk back there, if not for the occasional hobos or stoners, we even have a gazebo directly behind our house to sit and enjoy, but usually it is occupied with n'er do wells. This lady was walking back there with what looked like two tiny chihuahua sized dogs and two small kids on bikes with training wheels. The neighbor's dogs must have broke through the fence because there was a ton of barking and screaming ladies. I'm sorry, but the only thing coming out of my neighbor's mouth should have been "I am sorry!" "I am sorry!" Her dogs are relatively big, how is an older lady, maybe a grandma walking her grandkids and small dogs to defend everyone from a fifty pound dog coming at you? And you have the balls to go out there and argue? Shut up, get your shit dog, and apologize over and over again. Maybe euthanize the piece of shit.
All the things I would like to say, but I have already been called a whatever because I don't understand the poor plight of the caged doggy and its inherent want to bite that which it does not understand. Our neighbor must have one of those giant hearts of gold, brain the size of a pea. She is up to three or four ugly fucking rescue dogs, luckily there are no kids in the house. She always yells "don't worry, the dogs don't bite." whenever they have come on my property, but I totally freeze up and I hate that feeling.
Dog lovers don't get this, you see fur and cuteness, I see teeth and scars. I have already said I grew up in a small town where everybody had dogs, but nobody really cared for them or kept them locked up. To walk home meant to hope it was so hot after school that the dogs wouldn't bother chasing you home.
I hate to say it, but I had kind of hoped the dog next door bit one of the small dogs the lady had to get a lawsuit going, maybe euthanize some fuckers. I am trying to sleep during the day and one of the ladies works from home and guess doesn't want to hear them inside, but that means I get to hear them barking all afternoon long outside. One of them is those kinds that gets spooked and then stays in one spot barking like a recording every 5-10 seconds BARK!.... BARK!.... BARK! Shut the fuck up already. The lady rarely does anything about it. Occasionally, I will throw something against the fence or hit the metal grill with a piece of metal to scare the pieces of shit, but I don't think the dense owners get it.
That lady let her have it, it was beautiful. "No!, don't get after the dog, it's your fault that dog has no discipline! "That dog is behaving the way you taught her, it is no one's fault but your own!" She is correct on all instances. That greenbelt belongs to all of us, if my kids yelled obscenities at you every time you walked back there, you would conclude that the parents here suck and you would be right. Isn't it the same thing, if your shitty dogs bark and want to attack every time they hear a noise, doesn't it indicate the "doggy parents" suck? I say yes. All dogs suck, except Hans, because he don't bark, he's cool.

6/11/18 Another Typical Weekend?
These weekends are all kind of generic and bland right about now. Wife seemed to be coming home early on Friday, but she decided to stop at her Mom's house in SA and wait out rush hour or whatever and then didn't get home until 8:00-9:00pm. This is fine, except I'm not sure if I can leave the house and go "looking." We don't need anything per se, but you don't know you need something until you see it and then decide it is the one thing missing from your life to make you complete. I kind of screwed around and didn't line up my last night of work very efficiently, mostly because I didn't expect much work, as I have been pushing everything out the door, even stuff due like next Thursday is already done, but we got a few jobs in and hey, why not get them done ASAP. So I left work at 8:00am, it was payday and a long week, so I stopped for some tacos at Taco Cabana. Without Javalina here, I hate eating out of the house alone, so I made it all week on cereals and whatever Boy and his girlfriend left me as leftovers, they seem to enjoy cooking. Anyways, all this led to me getting in bed after 11:00am, which meant I wanted to sleep late and since Wife wasn't here, I did.
She always shows up like a high pressure system because she gets here hungry, first it is "I need to go to the bathroom, then what are we going to eat, then the movie starts in an hour, get up, get moving, get going, run run run… We saw Deadpool 2 and as I wrote about it already, it was an enjoyable funny movie. I like DP breaking down the 4th wall and talking to us the whole movie through, reminds us not to take it too seriously.
Since we got our movie in Friday night, we didn't have anything for Saturday, Wife is tired of the mall, I don't mind walking around it, but we don't need anything, other than some clothes for our trip next month, but I digress. It is way too hot to think of doing much of anything else.
I was up at like 6:30am, wrote like 3 day's worth of blogs, then went back to bed to do my husbandly duties and rape Wife a little bit, I know she would rather sleep, but then when does the little Mando get taken care of? You all would be disgusted if I took care of my needs outside the house, so light rape it is. She likes it, don't worry about it. After my two minutes in heaven, I needed to sleep and recharge all that energy and chi that just left my body. I finally woke up 3-4 hours later at 3:00pm and we went and got some stuff at Central Market, including the 2nd watermelon this year, they have both been delicious. We then got some meats at Target and grilled. Boy was having a Dungeons and Dragons night, it was originally his idea to grill, but he is super cheap, and never actually went and got meat.
I about fell asleep at the table watching my 3rd episode of Black-ish, which again Wife keeps insisting is funny, but the Wife is kind of a Bitch. The Valentine's episode was so bad, I could hardly get through it. First off, if your outfit is ugly, don't bitch when you get called out, shit was camo green, you ain't headed to war, put on some red shit or pink shit, you want to play the role of husband treat you like a queen, be his thing. It is his job to get the restaurant, get you a gift, be good company... if he complains all the time, he is going to complain that night, that is who he is. If you don't like that person, define that problem and don't have five freaking kids with him. I want to like the show, Anthony Anderson is great, but the wife always seems put off, this is why it is becoming harder and harder to watch scripted shows, if real people were this put off by being taken to the same restaurant every year, but you don't lift a finger to change things, fuck you. The Wife is always a know-it-all, and the husband has to play the buffoon. Come on, in most of these shows, they all live in huge houses/ apartments, the husband is usually the main breadwinner, he has to have some sort of brain, write the shows like that, more honestly.
For Valentine's, Wife makes a nice dinner at home, we include the boys, and maybe I get her a gift, we have been working on paying down credit cards, so the last two years I don't think we've even done anything, she's out of town most days, and that is fine. If Wife behaved like these bitches on TV where a gift really matters and sets the tone for the day, I'd a kicked that shallow ass on the street a long time ago. Reminds me of a guy I know, and what do all the expensive gifts amount to? Nothing, they were given to an unappreciative bitch!

6/10/18 Time Traveling In Super Hero Movies?
I guess this has been going on for a long time with super heroes, it seems easy when you draw a cartoon to envision a world where jumping time is relatively easy. I say time can only move forward, I find it hard to believe we could change that constant and perhaps make it stop or even run in reverse. Even the late Christopher Reeve managed to save Lois Lane by spinning around the world in an opposite direction to make the earth spin in reverse, this gave Superman just enough time to come in and save her from some earthquake, as I recall.
In the last Infinity War with all the Marvel Heroes, we see stupid Dr. Strange decide he won't destroy his infinity stone, only to pretty much wrap it with a bow and give it to the bad guy in exchange for Iron Man. They didn't really know each other, even if they should have, I didn't get why he would have done this. This of course sets the stage for Thanos's interaction with Vision who has spent about half the movie trying to remove the stone from his forehead to destroy it without dying, doing it, but then just like a brute, Thanos scoots back in time long enough, grabs Vision and rips it from his head, that was cheating, to me and three-four weeks later, I am still pissed about it. Funny how so many were evaporated, but all the main Avengers remained. You just know they have to figure out a way to bring back Spiderman, good looking white kid? Of course. Wakanda, I don't know, a bunch of black warrior people? Hmmm. The whole thing falls apart, fuck that, if you can bring back one, you can bring back all of them, all the way back to Gamora. You assholes painted yourself into a corner, otherwise Star-Lord has to become a brooding mess and that franchise is making you millions of dollars, stupids!!
In Deadpool, Cable shows up from the future and of course after the movie, Javalina wanted to discuss this as he didn't agree with some things. His take was that if Deadpool goes back in time and kills the bad guy and his girlfriend never dies, he doesn't get to save the kid from Cable because they have no reason to meet. My thought is that he had to go through all that pain and part of the story, or he would have never gotten his hands on the time device, so the girlfriend did have to die, he has to go on the journey the movie took him through and then if he got ahold of a time changing device, he can go back before the girlfriend gets killed, save her and just like the rails of a train track, you just keep going forward from that point in your timeline. Deadpool would have the memory of meeting and fighting Cable and becoming friends with him, but the girlfriend would not as she didn't exist for that loop of time. The train track then did a loop and connected with the original track and picked up the girlfriend, that makes sense to me.
That is not exactly as Cable did it because he went back in time after his family was dead to change the past and upon changing Firefist into a good guy, we see the teddy bear go from bloodied and burned to just a regular teddy bear, indicating the family was never killed and burned. I almost confuse myself in this thinking, I am sure these are not exactly the same ways in which these two went about saving their loved one's lives. If, like Deapool, he goes back in time to kill Firefist, he had to see them dead before jumping time. That already exists, making Firefist a good guy doesn't change what he did on another time line, he is just going on the good guy timeline now, but there is an old one which he was bad. I guess this is why people shouldn't fuck with time travel, it still bothers me, and it is confusing to discuss.

6/9/18 Deadpool 2 (Movie) (Spoilers)
This is what a super hero movie should be. The hero is indestructible, there is plenty of comedy, we must go through a little pain with the hero, but it is usually his driving force and ultimately makes him mature into a better person. This is in contrast to the last Marvel Heroes movie which was shit, leaving you crying, for no good reason, the DC movie where they were all fighting each other, turning on Superman who has been our hero of heroes for over 50 years. Even if you want to throw in the Star Wars franchise and the slow raping they are doing to it, as Ben Shapiro said, they are slowly killing our childhood heroes in the interest of making a quick buck today, what will be left for us to care, nobody cares about Rey (who barely seems to want to be there) or even worse Lil Darth with the temper tantrums.
Deadpool starts off strong showing us a montage in which he goes after all sorts of mafias and bad guys. It looks like he is in Japan, China, Italy, and others before coming home to relax with his girl. He is having a great day, it is his anniversary and the GF has just given him baby fever, she has removed her IUD and given it to him as a sign that she is ready for him to put a baby in her. No sooner do they go through this than they are ambushed by a gang of killers, surely sent by one of the gangs he has attacked. In lame movie fashion, he kills all but the very slowest last one to show at the door who manages to shoot the perfect shot, I think he actually deflected it towards her, killing her instantly. He gets the guy, but feels destroyed and kills himself for the first of three times.
In come the X-Men generic characters from the first one, which of course Deadpool has to be sarcastic about saying he would even take the one with the wings, who was annoying. In a bit of really funny but useless footage, Deadpool is walking down the hall backwards complaining about this, Beast slowly closes the door while Professor X and the rest of them give us the shh sign over their mouths. Deadpool gets with his guy at the hit man bar and decide he needs his own X-Men, which he calls X-Forces, but after spending about ten minutes of the movie, all but one go on to die before they even land on the ground, due to brisk winds and them coming in on parachutes, it was pretty dark humor and what makes this franchise different from the others.
The only one to survive is Domino who claims her superpower is luck. Deadpool of course argues with her for a while but ultimately kind of agrees luck may be something of a power. She has the coolest scene in the movie as she is chasing the vehicle full of mutants and we see her luck push her along and help her in every way imaginable.
The real reason for the movie, its driving force, is to save a young Firefist from Cable, a super soldier that comes through time to try and save his family by killing the guy who kills them beforehand. Once all the mutants on the vehicle are freed and Firefist is besties with Juggernaut, Cable decides he needs Deadpool's help. They join forces, but only after Deadpool gets his word that he will be given a chance to save the boy without killing him. In the 2nd death scene, Deadpool again talks to his dead GF and she says something like children are our future and he pieces together that his destiny lies in saving the boy, up until then, he has only cared about himself, which is a big change for him.
In the end, Cable decides to hang around, I guess to see how the past is and make sure he can maybe help guide Deadpool in the right direction. This gives Deadpool a chance to grab his time sliding device and apparently, save his girlfriend, undo the first Deadpool in the X-Men movie which kind of confused me, as he was not funny once he had his powers, and even escaping the movie scene, he is in Ryan Reynold's home as he just got the Green Lantern notes and lines and puts a bullet in his head, which is confusing, considering, he is Deadpool.
