Yesterday was the last day of summer, and I say good riddance. This summer was basically shitty. We didn't go anywhere, Boy was sick with that stupid third world country disease, everyone in the medical field has decided to put their hands in our pockets trying to get that 1-2 nickels I keep for a rainy day. The only possible positive thing is that Javalina was lifting weights throughout the summer and I am hoping he starts football season with a slight advantage. I am hoping he won't have the two week recovery of being sore, since he already went through it, at least for his upper body.
Javalina starts today, Wife started last week (working a full week, she had been working only four days), and Boy starts next week. My job doesn't have starts and stops, so I just work non-stop like a freaking machine, it kind of sucks at times. He managed to flip himself last week to going to sleep earlier, during the summer we let them stay up as long as they want. Boy has had a weird internship. First, they put him in charge of ordering all the equipment one would need to outfit a working electronics lab, and now they said he is the lad manager, but is still getting paid at an internship scale. All I can say is he needs to finish up that degree, his boss told him he wants to pay him more, but he has to play the game and get degreed.
I feel good about Javalina, he is starting 8th grade, we got him a bunch of black polo shirts, a few more tan shorts, socks, underwear, two pairs of sneakers, he insisted on not cutting his hair, and on using the same backpack, now since almost the end of 6th grade. I am a little surprised he has stuck with the same backpack, but he is a little weird anyway. It was a higher quality bag, so it has held up well. I am looking forward to his football shenanigans, seems like he has been waiting a year to get back on the field. Not only is football awesome, but it almost goes with the fall weather, I want this heat to go away.
Boy might be in his last year, finally. At this point, he didn't ask for new school clothes, but over the summer we probably bought him a good 12 dress shirts and like four pairs of dress shoes, so he should be alright. He has already taken care of ordering all is school supplies online. through Amazon, so he is set for next week. He set up his schedule to go to school on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday, and then be free to work Tuesday and Thursday.
I am sure this will be another busy year for us, specially with Wife so far away from us. But before you know it, we'll be in the holidays, shoot, I start decorating the house in early September for Halloween and that just creates a snowball effect getting bigger until poof, it is all over come Jan 1.
