It has been fifteen years since the tragic events of 9/11. What has happened down here at our level? We know big picture there were at least two wars attributed to the actions that day. Irag has been a mess, nothing significant attaching it to the activity on 9/11 was ever found. I could agree that Saddam Hussein needed to go, from what they showed us on TV, but we should remember it was our freaking geniuses in Washington that put him in power in the first place.
So after a decade and a half, can we admit we were wrong in going in to this country? It seems they had a small note at the border "YOU BREAK IT YOU BUY IT!" We are pumping billions of dollars to the shithole and for what? I don't think those people understand or believe in democracy. They don't even seem to have cities, these people look like they are still living like their ancestors did, following their goats around in the desert. Everything we see over there is made of rock and mud. They haven't figured out how to use wood and fiberglass to make a house yet. I understood under Bush and his regime, we would be staying there. I do not understand why Obama did not pull us out. What is the purpose of having our brave men and women walking around in that hell hole for the opportunity to step on a land mine or IED. What is the upside of maintaining a presence?
Thanks to these a-holes, we now need to arrive hours early for flights to make sure and give the airlines time to scan you. We have developed a distrust for the people of middle east influence. We feel like they are not afraid to die, which makes them harder to control. The few women from the middle east that become popular and drop the coverings tend to be really attractive, so those fuckers may be keeping them in burkas so we don't enjoy what they already know.
I didn't used to think much about people from those regions, I was never interested in going to the Holy Land or any of that stuff. I thought they were harmless, if a little pushy, when selling jewelry at the mall. My geometry teacher back in high school was possibly Pakistanian, but he seemed like a good decent man, I liked his accent, thought he was cool because he was a little exotic. But then they start feeding us BS like sleeper cells and stuff like that and all of a sudden we have to really think about it. Was he a good math teacher just trying to get by? Or was he a criminal mastermind, capable of unspeakable horrors, where he could create bombs out of a little Clorox and Kool Aid? I hate that the media in their rush to educate us, unknowingly split the landscape. Do we trust those we have known for years, or are they ticking time bombs, making themselves friendly only to dig deeper into our psyche. I don't know that we were directly affected by the actions that day. We have been inconvenienced in the name of safety, but no planes have fallen from the sky here in Texas, and I hope they don't.
