We are upon another Christmas Eve, I have decided to take the upcoming week off, so as of this writing (Friday morning ~4:00am, I am a free man for a week). We started my freedom by going out to eat, although I wanted Mod Pizza in Kyle, just about everything was closed except for McDonald's. We ate there, Wife wanted a Mcrib after hearing those commercials a bit too much. They did not have them in stock, what they had was a staff of Mexican ladies shrieking and cackling like it was party time. They were most annoying, but all their machines beeping and bells ringing made it feel like we were in a Mexican casino.
We then headed to the big HEB where we stocked up for the weekend. We have decided that since the weather is going to be nice and a little warmer than normal, we shall barbeque on Saturday night. We bought some fajitas which have been turning out just outstanding on the grill, some ribs for Chubs and Wife, and some chicken wings. For sides we have some jalapeno bombers and we shall figure out the rest as we go along. We decided we would try a brisket for Christmas Day, so we bought one of those as well. For tomorrow night, Boy said he was sure he could get us tickets to the new Star Wars Movie, Rogue One, so that sounds exciting. We will probably fill out the day with some last minute shopping, and some nice family time.
Boy has just totally sucked the fun out of Christmas. He didn't ask for much, a room for a couple nights when he goes to his comic con in San Antonio, which is kind of hard to wrap-up or display as a gift, and a new backpack for school, which he ordered through Amazon, and we get to pay. It is supposed to be here in time for Christmas, so I guess we shall receive it tomorrow, but that is cutting it close. I was telling Wife, maybe we can get him some shirts or something to pad his Christmas morning Santa delivery, otherwise Chubs will have an assortment of different things and Boy will have a backpack. (finishing this tomorrow night)
Well, his backpack arrived, so he'll have something under the tree. Wife told me she has other small gifts, and I managed to track down a Pelican waterproof case for smaller things like his phone and wallet. He does go to the river and tube in the spring, so this case could be useful in preventing his phone from getting wet.
I am trying to just relax and let it go, but I don't think it's fair that since November Wife has been telling me not to spend money on things, and then she shows up as a last minute hero with Boy, they sit down on Amazon and order what he wants while I'm sitting with my thumbs up my asshole trying to be a good guy who listens and doesn't spend any money. Oh well, the boys have their gifts, everybody else has a gift, so let's see how Christmas plays out. Merry Christmas Everyone from your favorite atheist.
