We almost did not even bother with Hollywood Studios, by Friday we were all exhausted. The only saving grace is that the park itself is rather small, for us. We don't really dig roller coasters and none of us are thrill seekers looking to ride that elevator that just drops. I told everyone we were not leaving the house until after noon. We slept until we woke comfortably, then I got up, drank some coffee, and started getting the boys up. My mom, not able to help herself, even after I told her I was not going to rush out the door, was still rushing me so that we could all go eat Golden Corral before heading to the park. I said no, you all go, there is no way I am pigging out again and then going to a park, it was miserable enough in Magic Kingdom.
Once we got past that, it was nice. We left half an hour later, got to the park five minutes after my brother who had left hours earlier, but managed to get lost. We headed one way only to be stopped by a Star Wars presentation. They were playing clips from the movies, then a character would come out and act something out, it was kind of cool, but it was in the middle of all this concrete with no shade at all. It felt intensely hot. As soon as it finished, we headed to the Toy Story ride which is easy enough to get to, but most of the left side is closed off and blocked off as they are changing some of the shows or rides. We had to double back, but we caught up with the rest of the family, the ride was great, with the Fast Pass. We came out of that and watched Walt Disney's trip down memory lane, shows his beginnings, there is even footage and a small show. It was actually interesting, he started out poor, and used Mickey Mouse, originally named Mortimer Mouse to launch his empire.
We found a Star Wars shop, Chubs bought a phone case for his phone with the Star Wars symbol and his name molded into the plastic, pretty nice. We then had a decent hamburger meal, rode the Star Wars ride and honestly, started making our way out. We hit all the shopping stores on the way out and made it home earlier than most nights. Mom still wanted to do some last minute shopping and I don't like to say no, after we had eaten at Outback, but the souvenir shops outside the Disney shops are pretty shitty. Everything has that fake look to it. We hung out, let my mom get a few things, then I freaked out, knowing she spent more than $100, considering everything in those stores looks like it's been there awhile.
We got back home, did a little cleaning, and packed most our stuff away that night.
